About this role
Job summary
Main duties of the job
To provide high quality, evidence-based nursing care to the practice population, supporting health promotion, disease prevention, and the management of acute and long-term conditions in accordance with local and national guidelines.
The successful candidate will ideally have experience in:
Wound care management
Cervical screening, contraception, womens health
Management of long-term conditions e.g asthma/COPD, diabetes, CHD
Immunisations and vaccinations (including childhood and travel)
Health promotion and patient education
Participation in infection prevention control and clinical governance activities
Accurate clinical record keeping using clinical system (e.g EMIS / ACCURX)

Job responsibilities
We are looking for someone who can:
Perform examinations and assessments appropriate to their specialist interest (e.g., perform Spirometry or Diabetic Foot Checks)
Independently prescribe medication within their specialist scope.
Competently provide other core nursing treatment such as smears, dressings and injections under PGD.
Demonstrate familiarity with EMIS Reporting to aid their understanding of the population health issue they're addressing
Offer a fantastic manner with colleagues and patients alike

Qualifications
- A BSc (Hons) Nursing
- Accredited Non-Medical Prescribing Qualification
Professional Registration
- Must have an active NMC registration
Experience
- Competent in nursing skills required for the post
- Strong organisation and communication skills
- Strong IT skills
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team and contribute to the ongoing success of the practice
- Experience of infection prevention and control measures
- Flexible approach
- Post registration Nursing experience
- General practice experience
- Experience of EMIS clinical system & QOF
- Car driver
