Main duties of the job
Key Responsibilities include:
- Deliver subspecialty radiology services in alignment with departmental needs, driving service improvement.
- Provide leadership and clinical expertise across general radiology, working closely with your colleagues in a collaborative environment.
- Actively contribute to service development, clinical governance, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Develop and maintain your subspecialty interest, enhancing our department's offering to meet patient and service requirements.
- Lead and contribute to audit projects and protocol development, ensuring best practices are followed.

Person specification
Education & Qualifications
- FRCR or equivalent qualification
- CCT in Radiology or equivalent (or within 6 months of receipt of CCT at time of interview) or on the Specialist Register
- Higher qualification, e.g. MD, PhD
Experience
- Clinical training and experience equivalent to that required for gaining UK CCT Radiology with sub-speciality accreditation / experience
- Experience of supervising / teaching undergraduates, junior doctors and other staff; ability to teach clinical skills.
- Experience of practice to date
- Clinical governance - track record of engaging in clinical governance; reporting and learning from errors
- Publications in recognised Radiology journals
- Research projects relating to speciality
- Evidence of ability to pursue independent audit and research.
Other
- Full registration with the General Medical Council and licence to Practice.
- Able to demonstrate behaviours consistent with the Trusts Values and Behaviours
Key Skills
- Ability to undertake diagnostic Breast Imaging along with aspiration and biopsies
- Excellent analytical & problem-solving skills
- Ability to apply research outcomes to clinical problems; ability to critically appraise published evidence
