Job description
Job responsibilities
- Diagnose, evaluate and manage patients with existing and undiagnosed glaucoma along with other ocular conditions.
- Perform diagnostic tests and procedures such as visual field assessments, optical coherence tomography (OCT), volk, CCT and gonioscopy.
- Provide management plans for existing Glaucoma referrals
- Provide pre-operative and post-operative care to patients.
- Collaborate with ophthalmologists, optometrists, and other healthcare professionals to develop comprehensive treatment plans.
- Participate in regular team meetings and contribute to service development initiatives.
- Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding glaucoma management and treatment options.
Person specification
Experience
- - Experience in ophthalmology, particularly in managing glaucoma cases and ability to work independently
- - UK NHS Glaucoma clinic experience
- - Gonioscopy experience
- - SLT laser experience
Qualifications
- - Medical degree from a recognized university
- - Valid GMC registration with a license to practice in UK
Skills
- - Excellent diagnostic and clinical skills.
- - Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- - Ability to work effectively in a team and independently.
